How to Use Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia

The Voodoo Doll is considered one of the safer Cursed Possessions to use in Phasmophobia, thanks to its favorable risk-reward balance. Despite updates that have tweaked its benefits, it remains a solid choice for players.

The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform actions that provide crucial evidence. This is achieved by inserting pins into the doll, one at a time. This method is particularly useful when you're dealing with a ghost that's being uncooperative or silent, as it can provoke the ghost to reveal evidence such as EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet prints.

There are 10 pins available to insert into the doll, each instigating an action from the ghost. However, this comes with a significant risk: each pin inserted depletes 5% of your sanity. Inserting all pins could drain up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the chances of a ghost hunt.

The most perilous pin is the one located in the doll's heart. Inserting pins is random, and if you hit the heart pin, it will instantly drop your sanity by 10% and trigger a Cursed Hunt. During this hunt, the ghost will spawn near your location and pursue you for an extended period, 20 seconds longer than normal hunts.

While using the Voodoo Doll carries inherent risks, the potential rewards in gathering evidence can be well worth it, provided you're adequately prepared.

Cursed Possessions, also known as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in Phasmophobia that can appear randomly on any map, influenced by factors like difficulty settings or Challenge Mode.

Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer a shortcut to manipulate the ghost's behavior, albeit at a higher risk to your character.
