According to a recent Bloomberg report, Warner Bros. has canceled an unannounced paid DLC for the popular game, Hogwarts Legacy. The planned story expansion was set to launch this year, accompanied by a "Definitive Edition" of the game. However, the decision to cancel came this week, with Bloomberg's sources citing that the content volume did not meet the expectations for the proposed price. Warner Bros. chose not to comment on the matter when approached by Bloomberg.

This cancellation occurs amidst a broader restructuring within Warner Bros.' gaming division, prompted by ongoing financial challenges. Earlier in the year, the company made significant moves, including the cancellation of the anticipated Wonder Woman game and the closure of the developing studio, Monolith Productions, as well as WB San Diego and MultiVersus developer, Player First Games. Additionally, Warner Bros. executed layoffs at Rocksteady Studios just last September.

Despite the setback with the Hogwarts Legacy DLC, Warner Bros. continues to emphasize the importance of the Harry Potter franchise and Hogwarts Legacy specifically. The company has publicly declared that a sequel to the game is a top priority, reflecting their strategy to concentrate on fewer, yet more significant, franchises. This focus comes on the heels of the original game's impressive sales, surpassing 30 million copies.
