Wolcen Studio has exciting news for gaming enthusiasts with the announcement of Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that integrates the thrilling mechanics of extraction shooters. The first closed alpha testing phase will kick off on January 25 for players in Europe, followed by North American players joining the fray on February 1.

"We've seamlessly blended the tension and risk-reward dynamics of an extraction shooter with the intense battle mechanics of combat RPGs," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon aims to offer a unique gaming experience. The studio is keen to gather feedback from players to refine and perfect the game.

In Project Pantheon, players assume the role of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world. They will face off against AI-controlled enemies and other players as they explore diverse maps. Successful evacuations will allow players to keep their hard-earned trophies, but failure means losing all accumulated loot.

The game offers extensive customization options, allowing players to build their own bases, personalize their gear, and experiment with various playstyles. The setting draws from world mythologies, with player trading forming the backbone of the game's economy.

The initial adventures will take place in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian legends. Even though the game is still in its early alpha stage, Wolcen Studio is committed to engaging with the community to continuously improve Project Pantheon.
