World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Event Delayed

Due to unforeseen technical difficulties, Blizzard Entertainment has announced a delay in the launch of the second Plunderstorm event for World of Warcraft. While initially scheduled for January 14th, 2025, a new launch time remains unconfirmed. The developers aim to resolve the issues and launch the event before the end of January 14th, but players should anticipate further delays.

Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion in 2024, was slated to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected problems arose during the planned server maintenance, pushing back the launch beyond the initially projected eight-hour window. A community manager confirmed these unforeseen complications, leaving players without a concrete launch estimate.

Plunderstorm Launch Window:

• Before the close of January 14th, 2025, pending resolution of technical issues.

While waiting for Plunderstorm's return, players can engage in other in-game activities, such as completing Siren Isle weeklies or participating in the Turbulent Timeways event.

This second iteration of Plunderstorm introduces new elements, including the Plunderstore and an updated in-game event interface. These additions may be contributing to the current technical challenges.

Despite the game mode's delay, the associated Plunderstorm Twitch Drops remain active. Viewers can earn the Coward's Azure Target back transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch streamer before February 4th at 10 AM PST. This provides players with a way to enjoy some rewards while patiently awaiting the launch of Plunderstorm.
