Xbox Games Now Available for Purchase on Android

The news, shared recently on X (formerly Twitter), leverages the recent court ruling in Google's antitrust battle with Epic Games. This ruling mandates that the Google Play Store offer expanded choices and increased flexibility for app stores, creating an opportune moment for the Xbox app launch. The court order requires Google to provide rival app stores access to its complete app catalog for three years, starting November 1st, 2024.
This new Xbox app significantly enhances the current Android offering. While the existing app allows game downloads to Xbox consoles and cloud streaming for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, the November update adds direct game purchasing capabilities.
