Yakuza / Like a Dragon is marking its 20th anniversary this year, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is getting fans involved in a unique way. They're allowing fans to vote on what official merchandise should be created, with options ranging from cult clothes to a traffic cone, golden underwear, and other quirky items. As reported by Automaton, there are 100 different items to choose from, and RGG Studio promises to bring the top two voted items to market within the next two years. The voting is currently listed in Japanese, but fans can participate by visiting the official website.

The merchandise options are a mix of the conventional and the downright bizarre, drawn from the franchise's famously wild universe. Alongside typical items like a 20th anniversary celebration hoodie and a Yakuza-themed pencil case, there are more eccentric choices. These include the cult outfit from Yakuza 0 worn by Munan Suzuki, the traffic cone Majima uses to ambush Kiryu in Yakuza Kiwami, and the "Puffy Gold Pants."

Other items up for vote are the sake Majima enjoys in a shack in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, Saejima's prisoner uniform from Yakuza 4, and many other peculiar items from the series.

The franchise will continue to celebrate its 20th anniversary with the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 21, 2025. RGG Studio previously celebrated the 10th anniversary with the beloved prequel Yakuza 0, but no similar projects have been announced for later this year. While releasing two games in one year might seem ambitious, RGG Studio is known for its fast-paced development, having released nine games in the last five years, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, two Super Monkey Ball games, and an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
