A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner achieved an impressive feat at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, where playtime was limited to just 10 minutes. As reported by VGC, Japanese content creator Ikaboze tackled the challenge using an existing save file, unsure of Link's equipment. Opting for a daring strategy, Ikaboze decided to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed." He loaded a save that brought him directly to the final showdown with Ganon. In a mere seven minutes, Ganon was vanquished, and onlookers erupted in spontaneous applause.

The achievement was even more remarkable considering Ikaboze used an unfamiliar controller and couldn't hear the game amidst the convention hall's noise. "I was surprised by how many people had gathered," he remarked. "Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and supports the new "Zelda Notes" service through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version don't automatically receive these enhancements but can purchase an "upgrade pack" for $10 to gain access. Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no additional cost to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders commenced on April 24, maintaining a price of $449.99 — and they sold out quickly. Additionally, Nintendo has warned U.S. customers who pre-ordered from the My Nintendo Store that release date delivery isn't guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
