Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, selecting from six distinct weapon types. This flexibility enables diverse character builds and playstyles. While Comrades' weapons are pre-determined, players can freely customize their own and their Accessory's weaponry at any time without penalty. Let's explore each weapon type:

Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered

New weapons are acquired through Operations or Zakka in The Warren. Here's a breakdown of the six weapon types:

Weapon Type	Traits
Light Melee	Quick attacks ideal for swift combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee	Wide-ranging attacks delivering substantial damage. Well-placed attacks multiply damage against multiple Abductor limbs. Charged attacks launch the user into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm	Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for high damage from a distance.
Assault Weapons	High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous positioning.
Portable Artillery	High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons	High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid fire. Reduces movement speed.

Note that your Accessory's gun weapons do not consume ammo.
