The marathon featured high-octane runs across genres and eras, including standout performances from Super Metroid, Crazy Taxi, and other beloved classics.
One of the most iconic moments came during a 18-minute speedrun of Crazy Taxi by Chuckles825. Known for its licensed soundtrack—typically problematic for live streams—the run was uniquely enhanced by a live band that performed real-time covers of the game’s iconic tracks, perfectly synced with gameplay. The electrifying fusion of music, speed, and audience energy drew over $24,000 in donations in just minutes, making it one of the most impactful segments in AGDQ history.
The event concluded with a dramatic four-player randomized race in Super Metroid for the SNES. The final seconds saw Eddie and Andy finish neck-and-neck—just one second apart, with the crowd erupting in celebration.
AGDQ continues to be a cornerstone of the speedrunning community, combining entertainment, innovation, and philanthropy. The next major event, Summer Games Done Quick 2025, is set for July 6th in Minneapolis, and will benefit Doctors Without Borders.
