The event, held from January 12–18, 2025, brought together top speedrunners, fans, and streamers from around the world to raise funds through live gameplay, donor challenges, and community engagement. The funds will be distributed to multiple beneficiary organizations, including: Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) – Supporting emergency medical care in conflict zones and underserved regions. The Trevor Project – Providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth. Crisis Text Line – Expanding access to mental health support via text. ALS Association – Advancing research and care for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients. AGDQ 2025 featured over 100 world-class speedruns across more than 60 games, including new entries like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Metroid Prime Remastered. Notable highlights included a historic sub-15-minute run of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a charity livestreamed co-run of Elden Ring that raised over $300,000, and a special "Donate to Win" challenge that saw fans race to unlock a surprise gameplay reveal.
