As a gesture of goodwill, Sony is offering an additional five days of service to all PlayStation Plus members.

The memory of the 2011 PSN data breach, which compromised the personal information of about 77 million accounts, remains vivid for many, prompting concerns over security and data protection.

Social media users have voiced their concerns and demands for transparency. "Given what happened in 2011, we need to know if we should contact our banks for new credit cards and whether we need identity protection services," one user stated in response to Sony's tweet. Capcom, for instance, extended the next beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds after the previous one was interrupted. Similarly, EA extended the duration of a high-stakes multiplayer event in FC 25.

Despite these actions, Sony has not provided further details on the PSN downtime beyond two tweets: one acknowledging the outage and another announcing the network's restoration with a brief explanation and compensation offer. Many customers are clearly eager for more comprehensive communication from the company.
