REPO

REPO's developers have unveiled exciting plans for the game's future, including a game-changing "duck bucket" designed to neutralize the terrifying duck that plagues players. Read on to discover more about upcoming updates and the insightful feedback from the creator of Lethal Company.

REPO's First Update Details

The Duck Bucket: A Player's Best Friend

REPO

REPO's first update introduces a new map and, most importantly, the much-needed "duck bucket." This ingenious addition, revealed in a March 15th YouTube video by Semiwork Studios, will allow players to contain the pesky duck, preventing its transformation into a horrifying monster. This not only protects players from its 10-second attack but also safeguards teammates from accidentally triggering the duck's monstrous form. The update also promises new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements.

REPO, a 6-player online co-op horror game, challenges players to carefully extract items in a terrifying world. The ever-present threat of The Apex Predator—a small, seemingly innocuous yellow duck—adds an unpredictable element of terror. When damaged or picked up, this duck transforms into a fearsome creature, attacking players before reverting to its normal form.

A New Map: "The Museum" and the Promise of Public Lobbies

REPO

Semiwork Studios has announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to put players' parkour skills to the test. Extraction points will feature clearer visual boundaries, making it easier to determine if loot is within the extraction zone.

The developers are also actively considering player feedback regarding public lobbies, stating, "As an overwhelming majority seems fine with matchmaking where you can either host public or private, together with a kick button, that's what we'll be looking into. Adding a kick button might sound simple, but it involves server coding, a new area for us." While acknowledging the challenges, they confirmed that public lobbies are in the works, though perhaps not as soon as other updates.

Lethal Company Creator Weighs In on REPO

Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular online co-op horror game, Lethal Company. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekers shared his thoughts on Twitter (X), offering constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement.

He praised the game's unique aspects, stating, "REPO is fun. At first I thought I didn't like it since I felt so slow (and voice chat range is too small!) But everyone in the group working together to move a grand piano through a cramped old mansion without scraping it—that is like the most funny objective for a horror game."

He continued, offering specific recommendations: "#1. Voice chat range needs increased, and the muffling is too much. #2. The levels with vast open space don't suit the game's design very well (similarly to Phasmophobia); it shines most in the cramped mansion layout."

REPO

Addressing concerns about enemies' silent approach, Zeekers added, "Yeah, there also needs to be an in-game way to learn about how enemies work, but I'm sure they're planning that."

R.E.P.O., currently the second best-selling game on Steam, boasts impressive player numbers, exceeding 230,645 concurrent players. To stay updated on the latest REPO news, follow the link below!
